Lara and Robin at Northview
Lara and Robin tied the knot on November 8th at Northview Golf & Country Club. I've loved getting to know Lara over the meetings and chats we've had in the months leading up to the wedding, and the wedding party kept me laughing, as promised! After a late limo, a few frayed nerves and a couple of tears, we did some very quick running and driving around the golf course for the photos. After dinner and a surprise "Happy Birthday" to the emcee, the dancing began.
Enjoy this little teaser Lara, I know you're peeking! :) I can't wait to show you all your photos!

Lara and Robin's Christmas tree was a fantastic idea, instead of a gift table, guests placed their gifts under the tree! It was decorated with all kinds of handmade photo trinkets representing their life together... so beautiful!

I don't tell very many people this little secret, but Neil Diamond is my guilty pleasure. Lara went to the concert back in September (jealous!) and when the dj played "Sweet Caroline" there were a lot of arms in the air... "BAH BAH BAH"

Candy canes and one ugly chair!
Who are these people with the candy cane bums??

Let me introduce to you Sammy and Tairalyn...
I could write all sorts of stuff about how awesome they are and how fabulous their wedding in December at the Roundhouse is going to be... but let me leave you instead with the e-mail I got when they saw their photos...

What an amazing talent you have- HONEST TO GOD!!!

Your photos that you took at our shoot – blew both Sammy and I OUT OF THE WATER…. Honest to god you captured Sammy and I in a NUTSHELL!

I didn’t get home today until 3:30pm walked in the door with bags and bags of stuff and all I could think of is forget this stuff – you HAVE to see the photos that Jen took – And honestly Sammy could care less what I had in all the bags – it was all about what I had on the laptop!

We are so impressed and excited with the photos – we don’t know how to thank you enough!

Thanks for being amazing Jen!
Taira & Sammy

I was feeling a little sick just watching this...
The CHAIR!

Tairalyn bought this chair on Craigslist just for this shoot. The sky is the limit people! If you can think of it, we can shoot it. I actually would like to buy this chair from her but I can just see the eye-rolling I'd have to endure from my husband :) hehe

Thanks guys, what a blast. Pretty please can we have a sky like that on your wedding day? ;)

Dr. Maureen & Kirk
So, it was a little windy and chilly on Maureen and Kirk's day in October... but the sun was out and it was a beautiful Autumn day. I've included a lot of photos in this post so I'll let the images do the talking...

Maureen's shoes. Hello sexy! I get a little too excited when I have a gorgeous bride wearing something a little out-of-the-ordinary... and wait til you see her in her dress!

A proud Mom moment. Nobody wants to ruin the make-up but I love a little emotion :)
Exquisite. I'm going to share a little something that I learned that day. Dr. Maureen (she's a dentist!) sewed the buttons onto the back of her dress herself. She also made her shawl. Multi-talented!!!

Off to Steveston Village... where the stores hand out candy to the little ones on the weekend before Halloween. How cool is it to have a fuzzy little elephant in your photos??
Maureen and Kirk have a special tie to a certain building in Steveston... and they told me it was ugly. But I think we found a spot that's pretty neat :)

Oh, how I love the setting sunlight on the coast!
Kerry at Fairy Godmother Weddings waved her magic wand and made the UBC Boathouse look incredible.

In Kirk's family, it's tradition to welcome those who marry in with their own tool belt. (Kirk is a carpenter.) Maureen got a pink one... and she modeled it like a pro.
FACT: When you dance like this, the photographer WILL follow you around. I think I heard somebody say "Drive the car!" I also think the expressions on the faces of the people watching is quite possibly more entertaining than the dancers.
Then they sandwiched Kirk...
ok, ok... that's all for now! Time for bed for this photographer... g'night!
